Abstract
The current study aims to develop and evaluate cognitive behavioral group treatment to reduce psychological stress of emotion labor workers, considering lack of interventions for emotion labor workers in South Korea. The participants were social workers (N=26) and intra-company telemarketers (N=22) who are considered as representative emotion labor workers. A two day treatment based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy targeting depression, anxiety, anger, and stress level was developed. Assessments were done pre-to-post treatment. As a result, perceived stress, anger, and anxiety decreased significantly and participants reported high satisfaction with the program. Limitations and suggestions for further study were included.
